Hello. Salut. Olá. Hallo!

We are Eva and Miguel.

In June 2016, we set off on our recumbent bicycles to explore part of the world. At the time, all we knew was that we were trying to make it to Portugal from our home in Geneva, Switzerland.

One year and one day later, we cycled up to our front door again. We had made it to Portugal, and even much further.

Right now, we’re trying to get back into what society calls a “settled life”, all the while dreaming about the next journey.

Welcome to Next Stop: Where?

Currently, Next Stop: Where? is a blog about our recumbent bike trip from June 2016 to June 2017. For the time being, we’re back home, but we hope to continue taking our bikes out on journeys, so our blog will also be about that in the future.

In fact, Next Stop: Where? v1.0 was born many years ago. More precisely in 2009, when we left our home and jobs for the first time. We only had a small backpack, a train ticket to Vienna, and a visa for Russia. We had no idea where that journey would take us. Very often, we would get up in the morning not knowing where we would be that night.
Hence the name of the blog: Next Stop: Where?

You can read all about that journey here.

Our weird bicycles (also called “recumbents”)

What is it like to tour with a recumbent? How did we manage to take them on an airplane? And for the technically interested, we wrote a complete review of our bikes.
