Em Serpa a calma era rainha na vila. As poucas lojas no centro histórico vendiam manjares de rei (queijos, queijadas, pão, porco preto…). Deambulamos várias horas antes de poisar a tenda no parque de campismo. Para jantar decidimos por um pequeno restaurante local (O Engrola). Tão local que ao final da refeição proprietário e outros clientes se puseram a cantar cante alentejano. Aqui está a gravação:

Récit de l’étape de Lisbonne à Quarteira (du 7 au 14.9.2016)
Il est toujours difficile de repartir après une pause. On aurait encore pu faire tant de choses à Lisbonne… ça attendra une prochaine fois. Nous repoussons notre départ d’un jour à cause de la chaleur – 40° la journée et presque 30° la nuit ne nous inspirent pas à pédaler. Mais aujourd’hui c’est reparti. 4’000 km
Little by little the summer wanes but our journeys in Alentejo are still full of fruits from the warm days. During the last 4 km before the four thousand kilometers milestone we collected grapes, olives and figs from road side trees.
Fish and birds – a day on the beach
While in Lisbon we spent a day at our favourite beach, Praia da Mata on Costa da Caparica. Besides swimming in the sea and eating delicious grilled fish, we witnessed this great spectacle of the fishing boats coming back from the sea.
Travel part III – South Portugal
The next part of our trip is now planned and started today (we had to wait for the temperature to decrease from the max 38º C and min 25º C of the last few days). So far we did the following:
- Part I – Geneva – Santiago de Compostela – Apúlia – 6 weeks
- Part II – Apúlia – Serra da Estrela – Lisboa – 3 weeks
The next 3 weeks will most likely be:
- Part III – Alentejo (coast) – Algarve – Baixo Alentejo – Lisboa
