Fish and birds – a day on the beach

While in Lisbon we spent a day at our favourite beach, Praia da Mata on Costa da Caparica. Besides swimming in the sea and eating delicious grilled fish, we witnessed this great spectacle of the fishing boats coming back from the sea.

Something’s happening – the birds are coming in
Fishing boat arriving
Ready and waiting for the fish
The birds are ready and waiting, too
Pulling in the net
There are the fish!
Ankle-deep in fish
Selling fresh fish
Some unwanted catch
Now it’s the birds’ turn!
